"Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?... there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent." Luke 15:4, 7
PRAISE THE LORD
Prison Mission Report!
Dear Brothers and Sister in Christ,
An inmate sent the following article to me. It is by an inmate and published in an inmate magazine. I thought it would be a great way to start off this new year. Not only for inmates, but for all of us in our own little worlds and "prisons".
Dear Prison Inmates,
What if the system doesn’t change any time soon? It would be easy to lay this all off on the prison system and say, "look here, you’ve got to run our prisons with more kindness." People have been saying that for years.
But, you too have a responsibility to help make the world a better place. As terrible as prisons are, your behavior toward each other is just as terrible. Even those of you who "do your own time," look the other way when a brother or sister (fellow inmate) gets ripped off, raped or even killed. This allegiance to the stupid "convict code" set down by a small number of 1940s petty gangsters, allows the tone of prison life to be set by a small minority of the most brutal convicts in the institution.
You must develop a new "convict code" based on respect, tolerance and mutual support - where we can trust each other and allow each other to live in peace and self-dignity were, if a gang of 10 threatens you, you can count on 100 of all races and creeds to stand with you and say, "That kind of stuff doesn’t fly here anymore."
I know this isn’t an easy task, and most of you just want to get out of prison alive, but if your prison life is, "Hey man, I’m looking out for Number One, and I just want to get out of here in one piece," then that’s pretty much how your street life is going to be, too.
It’s an empty way to live. Where ever we are, there are going to be values like kindness to stand up for, sometimes to suffer or even die for. That’s how we gain the self-respect which can hold up anywhere, under any circumstances.
I’ve talked with countless offenders one-on-one, and every one of you wanted to treat others with respect and kindness, and be treated the same way. But when you leave me and go back out into population, you cop your old attitude. It’s sort of like, "Well, I ain’t gonna be the first to turn over the new leaf. I’d get stepped on."
I know cruel things have happened to each of you. But, none of you has been beaten, scorned, punished, or laughed at more than Jesus was. Not one of you has given up his very life for the good of others. As did Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King.
Yet those men, even in their humiliation and death, showed such greatness of the human spirit that they continue to inspire us long after they passed our way. Whatever you’ve gone through, whatever you’ve suffered, however much suffering you’ve caused to others, none of it prevents you from caring about the people around you - not only inmates, but guards, staff, etc. You have to break the circle of pain and selfishness or forever be lashed to it. You tell me you really want to change your life for the better. Then do it. Don’t rip anyone off. Stop lying.
Trust somebody until they prove you can’t. Cautiously, open up your honest feeling with the people who seem like they want the same thing.
Don’t manipulate or lay guilt on your family, friends and outside organizations. Don’t harden yourself to suffering just because your circumstance is painful to deal with.
Put dope and booze behind you, so you can pay clearer attention to the changes you want to go through. You and I have had enough dope and booze. Some of the experiences we had on drugs may even have been important for us, but there comes a time when you have to move on.
And look into this idea of kindness. Kindness is a great mystery. It heals so many old wounds and hurts we can’t possibly count them all. Take up the challenge of how to become a truly kind person without being exploited or abused in a place like this.
Look around you for ways to express a little kindness around the prison, outside community or the world.
Discover the Magic!
No one can ever do that part for you. And, it’s never going to be any easier, wherever you are. People who wait, tend to wait forever and die waiting. Take responsibility instead. Then you’ll begin to feel the self-respect and self-dignity you’ve been seeking for so long.
Think about it!

For a moment there, I thought that maybe he had read the book, "Change Your Life Biblically". Folks, it is so amazing to me how so many "Christians" miss the point. True Christianity isn’t going to church. It isn’t claiming to be a "Christian". It isn’t "believing" in the Name. It isn’t singing in the choir or any of the "doing" things of your religion. True Christianity is very simple: LOVE. Love your family, love your friends, love your neighbors, love those who are different from you, and love your enemies. Simply put, do what is just and right.
And that is just what the Old Testament says. It says that David was loved by God and was given so much because he went around doing what was just and right. Using God’s Ten Commandments as his standard of righteousness, he went around in his life obeying them and teaching others how to obey them. That is what Righteousness is all about. Both Old and New Testaments, not a single salvation issue is different between them. Jesus came and lived the Old Testament and then commanded us to follow His example.
Doing what is just and right by the commands and decrees of the Old Testament, what a novel idea. Not by what we think. Not by how we feel. Not by the opinions of your church, pastor or denomination. Not by the opinions of the majority. But doing as Jesus did. No wonder Jesus stated that very few "Christians" would be in Heaven. It is not those who claim, but those who do. Matthew 7:21
Remember, it was tithe paying, churchgoing people who put Jesus on the cross. Let us follow the example of Jesus in living the perfect, righteous and obedient Ten Commandment life.
To Whom it May Concern,
I’m writing you in hopes of being able to get your workbook, ‘Change Your Life Biblically". I’m serving a 15 year sentence. I don’t receive any money from the outside. I’m indigent. I hope you have a way I can still receive your book.
John, NV
Dear Ron,
Well, I’ve completed your book and I will add that it’s truly amazing to know what people went through back in history to uphold God’s laws. So much pain and suffering because they knew the truth and were determined to obey God’s Word no matter what. I never knew that people could be so cruel. I always knew and was told about the Catholic Church. This book will be hated greatly by people like them. It is a proven fact that you can see right now today.
Robert, CA
Hello Sir,
I’m very indigent. A friend of mine told me your book is very good. I also could receive it for free, he says. I have no hope. I’m suicidal and I only have God. I don’t need a tribe or a name for God to know the Bible holds knowledge and love. Anyway, I love Christian literature and would love to have your book. I pray that your book will get me ready to pull 60 years of life out of myself. I’m 25 years old. I don’t see a blessed future for myself. I’ve been in prison 7 years now.
Arta, CA
JCPM,
First things first: God bless you. I would like to learn more about God. My friend has your book, "Change Your Life Biblically". I would like to receive the book so I can do the Bible study. Keep me in your prayers that I receive some wisdom and understanding of what I’m reading.
James, CA
Ronald John,
I requested your workbook, "Change Your Life Biblically. However I was due to transfer so I waited to contact you again. I’m sorry to say, I am an indigent inmate and I don’t have funds or anyone that will. I hustled these stamps and I will hustle more to send to you. I pray that I can still get this work book. I’m an ex-gang member and I need all the help and guidance I can get. I do hope you will reach out and help. I’m new at asking people for help, but I need God and I ask in Jesus’ name for your help.
Richard, CA
Ron,
I was referred by a friend who has a subscription by your ministry. I have seen the book, "Change Your Life Biblically". I really found it fun to read. I don’t own a copy of the book. I am requesting that if your able to send me a copy of "Change Your Life Biblically". I’m indigent at this time and I feel I would learn a lot by reading and doing the answer sheet.
Jeffrey, CA
Dear Jesus Christ Prison Ministry,
My cellie has your book, "Change Your Life Biblically". My cellie allowed me to read both and I am so blessed by it. I’ve learned so much already. I never realized how much incorrect teaching there was about our Lord until your book came into my life. Unfortunately I am completely indigent. But I would love my own learning material. I also would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your ministry. I too have a passion to start a ministry when I get released. You are a true inspiration and God has surely blessed you.
Christopher, CA
To the Staff and Members of JCPM,
I have been able to read and almost finish your lovable and joyable book titled, "Change Your Life Biblically". I highly honor it and I have seen a few other inmates that have received it in the mail here in the past few days. I would love to be honored to be able to receive a copy of it.
Daniel, CA
Hello,
Can you please enroll me in your Bible course to help me grow more in my walk with God? It would truly mean a lot to me.
Deon, TX
To Whom it may Concern,
I would like to request your book, "Change Your Life Biblically". My old roommate had a copy and I must say, it’s one of the better books I’ve read concerning the Word. (He left so I couldn’t finish.) I’ve always appreciated a truth perspective and anyone brave enough to speak it. It’s so true that "religion" has blinded the main street and it’s refreshing to see someone doing God’s Work. Your writings are not in vain.
Lamont, CA
To Whom it may Concern,
A while back I had requested your workbook and I got more applications. I have no extra stamps to send, I’m sorry. I have to trade my lunches to get what few stamps I can get so I don’t have to use my indigent envelopes up right away. I would really like to receive your workbook.
Terry, CA
Ron,
I greatly appreciate having had the opportunity to read your book and participate in the workbook study. I certainly feel as if it has opened a door to me of understanding and wisdom concerning the Bible’s teachings that I otherwise might never have been aware of. Having been born a Catholic and raised in a Catholic school, a number of the truths you have revealed to me were hidden and suppressed. Again, I thank you for giving me the chance to learn the true message of God without which I would have been lost forever. God bless your ministry for all its work.
Kyle, AZ (Death Row)
Dear Brother Ron,
I’ve had a hard time getting stamps this last two weeks. I’m writing this letter before the day that we get stores. If I receive them they will be in the letter. If not, another week. Well, I’ve found out last week that my country wide "vacation" is about to end. Glory to God. I will be getting released from this county jail sometime within the next two months. I’ve been in county for 2 1/2 years. I have for two solid years been studying the Bible and seeking the truth that sets me free from sin. I have found it with the help from the book, "Change Your Life Biblically". I’ve been fighting the good fight every day through the power Jesus gives us to overcome sins and all my prayers have been answered. I’m getting to go home to my family. Through what I’ve learned all this time and explained to my family God is being glorified through the 2 1/2 years. I’ve read in some of your newsletters in the past that you have some helpful things for teaching others once we are able to hit the streets. I want very much to be able and ready to show, tell and teach others about the truth found in the Bible. If you could, let me know what I need to do to receive these things so I can get to work for God’s church upon release.
Kevin, CA
Jesus Christ Prison Ministry,
I am a 26 year old really wanting to change. I have tried everything known to man to fill that hole only God can fill. It is a true blessing that I came across the "Change Your Life Biblically". This book has been such an inspiration to me. We have Bible studies in here with a big group of 40 and I have allowed the Holy Spirit to work within me to share the Good News. This book is really helping me.
Cipriano, CA
Ron,
I am jazzed to be able to send you my tithes for this month and truly see for myself how faithful He is to His Word in blessing us to be blessings and supplying my every need. I am happy to report that I have a sister in Christ here with me who is so impressed with your book and diligently studying the Bible with it. We discuss it and I see the scales falling off her eyes. Thank you Jesus.
Diana, CA
Dear Friend,
I’m writing you this letter to say thank you very much for the Bible study. I’m getting a lot out of it. I know that it’s very important to keep the Saturday Sabbath. I have always believed that. The thing I don’t understand is why most churches don’t keep it because if you read Exodus and Deuteronomy God says to keep it over and over. I’m not a very good reader so it might take me a long time to do the study. I do read it every day so please keep praying for me.
Gary, CA
Dear Ronald John,
I’m 22 years old. I’ve never been gang related. I was going to college. In 2004 me and my whole family got arrested. We all got convicted to life in prison. This is our first time ever arrested. I pray daily I get blessed and receive a second chance to start new again. Brother John, look, as you could see, I’m interested in the workbook you offer. All the material that has to do with our Father Christ I’m interested in. I understand you are limited in funding, but anything you could do for me I highly appreciate it.
Elmer, CA
Greetings,
The young man in the cell next to me passed along your info and let me get a look at your workbook. It looks excellent. Please send me one so I may improve my understanding of the Bible.
Theo, CA
Brother Ronald John,
I pray the Lord has blessed you and watches over you. Thanks for your letter. They always uplift my spirit. I hope all is well at your ministry. I have been staying strong in the Lord. Some days it’s hard but I rejoice in the Lord. I try to tell as many people who will listen about how your study helped me. You should, God willing, be hearing from more people. God is good Ronald. So merciful. But the more I study and learn about God, I realize I must fear the Lord. His discipline. I praise His name. He’s made a change in my life. I’m trying to stay focused and to obey the Lord.
Richard, CA
Dear Brother,
I received your "Change Your Life Biblically" book from another brother who couldn’t take it with him. So I told myself what a blessing. Well, I have been doing Bible studies with your book. Let me tell you, it opened the eyes to a lot of brothers and even myself. Things we didn’t know. And teachings about Jesus. It was my first time doing Bible studies. But with God’s help and your book, it made it a lot easier. Well, I did your test. I did my best on it. I learned so much and the truth. I know this was a blessing from God. I just hope and pray everything is all right on the test. There was so much I wanted to put down, but I put the best answers I found. It was a challenge, no doubt. It was like flipping for scripture, searching and learning. Well, it would be great if you can send some material and supplies to keep the Bible studies going. That would really help. I have been walking with God now two years since I been down and I refuse to look back. One year ago I was persecuted for being a Christian. Brother, I was hurt pretty bad. But God kept me going and I’m still serving Him. Learning all this new information is wonderful and growing with God has really changed my life. When I get out I would like to join your ministry. That would be a blessing. Once again, thank you for this book. It sure helped a lot and opened my eyes to a lot: "The truth of God".
Santiago, CA
Dear Ronald John,
I am sending you a letter thanking you for your response and information you sent me. I am writing you back regarding being sent your study book. Another friend of mine has it here in the cell block and I was making sure it would come through in the mail room. I had to get some stamps up. Now I am ready for you to send it so I can begin learning the truth and more about our loving Father God. The book is quite the talk of the building amongst the Christians and even the nonbelievers it is opening many eyes and ears that are yearning for the truth and to grow with God. I am enclosing 10 stamps so you can send me the book.
Michael, CA
Sir,
Six or seven men in my pod have joined into a fellowship in this Bible program and asked me to join with them. I’ve said yes, so please send me this "Change Your Life Biblically" workbook so we will work together on this study program.
William, AZ
Ron,
Thank you again for all your support and time every step of the way. Just last week I received a letter from a friend of mine that I hadn’t heard from in 13 years. The only thing I could think of is she probably thinks I’m the same old Scott. Second thought was why not send her your address so she can send for the book. Who knows, it could have an impact on her just as it has on me.
Scottie, FL
Dear Brother Ronald,
Sorry for the delay. I am now at a new prison. I didn’t have any of my property a week before transfer and a week after my arrival, so I didn’t have your address nor any resources. Anyway, change of environment was kind of hard to adapt at first, but I’m back on track. I had to hold on to Jesus for dear life. He is such a good and great God. He comforted me every step of the way. I don’t know what I would have done without Him. My first Sabbath here was so lonely. There are nobody who keeps the Sabbath. I’m thinking that’s way God has brought me here, to preach His three Angel’s Messages. Before I left my old prison I made it my mission to tell everyone that was willing to hear about your book. But I have a problem. My book, CYLB, was out when I transpacked so I need another one sent. I need one for myself and to show others how good your book is so they can learn the truth and get a book for themselves. I have only been here for a few days and God has already started to work through me. Please pray for me and for my heart and for the work that is ahead of me.
Timmy, CA
Brother Ron,
You can’t shake me. I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart, but most of all I thank God who sent your ministry to better (evolve) my walk. You got me figured out. That made me laugh. I graduated high school believe it or not, with a 3.0 average. But only because of sports. I cheated my whole way through school. I never read a whole book in my life until I came to prison. I was brought up poor and all I knew was selling weed and crime since I was 13. The feds finally got me at 31. I’m thankful because now I know Jesus. Your book has helped me so much. I keep the Sabbath holy. All for the Lord. I’ve learned so much the last four years. But your book just changed my spiritual thinking. It is all truth. So I just get a little excited. I’m still a puppy in Christ. I’m getting through to a few people in here slowly. I need to have my thoughts perfected in every way before I can help more. I’m welding my armor one piece at a time. That way I’ll be able to bring more people to Christ. You are a true brother disciple. You’ve been like an elder to me and others I’m sure.
Larry, CA
Jesus Christ Prison Ministry,
I am very thankful for this wonderful opportunity to receive this very unique free gift of "Change Your Life Biblically". A friend blessed me with your brochure about this book. In reading just the chapter about pray, it blessed me because the principles in there is what I’ve always believed but never personally investigated anything like this until now. I will be anticipating this free gift.
John, CA
Dear Brother Ronald,
Thank you for sending me the information on your wonderful ministry. I am very interested in the workbook, "Change Your life Biblically". Unfortunately I am at the present time indigent. I would be very grateful if you can send me this workbook that my friend Robert has talked so highly about. I have noticed a peaceful and godly change in my dear friend Robert. I want and need that peace that only Jesus Christ can give. With the Holy Spirit working through your ministry I too can receive peace and tranquility.
James, CA
Brother Ron,
I would like to receive the book, "Change Your Life Biblically". As you can see I don’t have any thing to give you for the shipping. I have no money in my account. I have enjoyed the book I have, but would like my own copy.
Don, CA
Dear JCPM,
I would like to receive your book, "Change Your Life Biblically". My cellmate has one and he says it’s awesome. Plus, I’m without funds and would like to be lifted out of this rut I’m in.
Jesse, CA
JCPM,
This book was truly amazing with all of the Biblical information you have compiled within these pages. I went on a journey discovering the world and it’s relationship with the events which occurred in the Bible. Again, you have truly written something very special.
Cedric, TX
Dear Brother Ron,
They moved me as I told you a while back. I’ve been here for about a month. Sorry for not writing you sooner. I have been talking with a few brothers and fellowshipping. Several have sent in for the workbook that I know of and one young man is very excited about what he is learning.
John, CA
Dear Brother Ron,
I was happy to hear from you. Thank you for the calendar and certificate. I don’t know if I still have my study book or not. I never got to see what they packed up. They just wrote "books and misc." I really hope that it is there because that book is awesome. It has more information in it than most books I have studied.
James, CA
Once again, I want to thank each and every one of our dedicated, continuous and faithful supports. With your help we were able to accomplish a lot in 2007.
I have to admit that the months of November and December, at time of printing, were very poor months for us. We had to accumulate some debt since we did not have enough donations to cover our operating expenses.
As you can see, we are no longer in a "rush" to get books. We were too late. I was hoping to get new books so we could send the old books to Africa. That is no longer possible. What used to cost us $50 for a case of books sent by ship, now costs over $170 by air. The Post Office no longer sends by ship. This has broken my heart.
God bless you all this new year.
Love in Christ,
Ron
